COLUMBUS, November 8, 2026 — The Salty Dawg Pet Salon + Bakery is preparing for its grand opening on Friday, Nov. 13, offering a full suite of pet-care services and community events.
A Southeastern Franchise Expands Its Reach
Founded in 2018, Salty Dawg is a pet salon franchise providing various pet-care services including grooming, styling, accessories and bakery treats. The franchise currently offers its services in locations including Atlanta, North Carolina and Texas, with its newest Columbus location opening at 1701 Rollins Way in Suite 400.
Comprehensive Services and Community Partnerships
The new Columbus franchisee, Jay Patel, is supported by the Paws Humane Society and the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce for the opening. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Paws Humane Society adoption event from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday celebrations will include refreshments for residents and their dogs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Founder’s Personal Inspiration
Patel was drawn to Salty Dawg due to his business background, passion for dogs, and desire to work in the service industry. His inspiration for entering pet care came from his late golden retriever, Luna. “I don’t have any pets right now, but until a few years ago I had a golden retriever named Luna. Being her pet parent taught me what it truly means to be a responsible and loving pet owner, and she is the reason my Salty Dawg location exists,” Patel said.
