Apple Unveils HomeView Smart Hub Featuring Integrated Siri AI

CUPERTINO, October 17, 2026 — Apple has officially entered the smart home hub market with the debut of HomeView, a hardware device centered on a 7-inch Liquid Retina display. The unit, which integrates the company’s latest artificial intelligence software, is scheduled for general release on November 13.

Hardware Design and Display

The HomeView is built with an aluminum chassis anchored by a domed speaker base. A stainless steel hinge connects the base to the 7-inch Liquid Retina display, allowing the screen to tilt for improved viewing angles on various surfaces. According to Apple, the device is intended for versatile placement, including tabletops or wall-mounted configurations in areas such as hallways or entryways.

The display includes adaptive technologies such as True Tone, which adjusts the screen based on ambient lighting conditions. The system features an automatic brightness range that spans from 500 nits for high-visibility environments down to 0.3 nits for low-light settings, such as a nightstand. The device is available in four color options: silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray, each paired with a matching power cable.

Intelligence and Personalization

At the core of the HomeView experience is the integration of Apple Intelligence and a new, more conversational version of Siri AI. According to the company, this iteration of Siri possesses broader world knowledge and improved onscreen awareness. When the hub is paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone, it can access personal context from apps like Calendar and Messages to provide tailored responses.

The device also employs facial recognition technology to identify individual users. Once a user is recognized, the interface adapts to display their specific content, including reminders, FaceTime contacts, and Find My data. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, stated that the device is intended to function as a shared household screen that transitions into a personal experience based on the individual standing in front of it.

Home Ecosystem Integration

HomeView functions as a central point for smart home management, supporting hands-free automation, home monitoring, and FaceTime calls. The device operates within the broader Apple Home ecosystem, which allows users to configure and control connected appliances. This ecosystem utilizes the HomeKit framework and the Matter standard to manage accessories and scenes.

The launch of HomeView coincides with the release of the updated Apple TV 4K, which also serves as a home hub. The new Apple TV 4K includes the A19 chip, providing increased processing power for home theater setups. Apple indicated that these devices are designed to work in tandem, with the Apple TV 4K managing smart home accessories and notifications, such as doorbell alerts, while the HomeView provides a dedicated interface for direct interaction and voice control.

Pricing and Availability

The HomeView is priced starting at $299. Following the initial announcement, Apple confirmed that general availability for the product will begin on November 13. As with many consumer electronics, the company emphasizes that the device is built with privacy and security as a foundation for its data processing. Owners are encouraged to consult their specific user documentation for guidance on setup and privacy settings.

Interface and Spatial Awareness

The HomeView interface is engineered to provide a dynamic user experience that responds to its environment. The screen is designed to remain clearly visible from across a room, allowing users to view information from a distance. To enhance usability, the interface intelligently adjusts the density and complexity of displayed information based on the user’s physical proximity to the device, showing simpler content when the user is further away.

Beyond its visual output, the hardware is designed to fill the room with sound. The device integrates audio capabilities to support its role in home entertainment, such as playing music. By combining these audio features with the display’s adaptive technologies, the hub functions as a central point for both media consumption and household management, ensuring that the device remains functional and accessible regardless of where it is positioned in the home.
