Domino's Launches Massive Video Game Giveaway Campaign to Target Millions of Gamers

Strategic Entry Into Gaming Markets

Domino’s is launching a promotional campaign to give away 20,000 video games and in-game items tied to its individual-size pizza. The initiative pairs the fast-food giant with Minecraft Dungeons II, an action-adventure game set in the Minecraft universe. The campaign starts on October 26 and is designed to target millions of consumers across the gaming industry. According to a 2026 report from the Entertainment Software Association, 212.3 million Americans play video games at least once a week. This massive demographic represents a strategic target for the pizza chain.

Campaign Mechanics and Rewards

To participate in the giveaway, customers must purchase a Domino, which is the chain’s new individual Detroit-style pizza, and submit proof of purchase online. Domino’s will distribute 2,000 game tokens every day between October 26 and November 4. These tokens allow users to download the base game for free. The free game download has a $29.99 value and is valid on PC and Xbox only. Chief Marketing Officer Kate Trumbull stated in a company release that the partnership aims to create experiences that surprise and delight customers who enjoy gaming with friends.

Collectible Boxes and Loyalty Integration

The promotional rollout includes six collectible Minecraft Dungeons II-themed pizza boxes showcasing different characters. These boxes feature designs of the Corrupted Creeper, Prime Enchanter, Valorie, Zombie, Pig, and Creeper. Additionally, Domino’s Rewards members can unlock one of three exclusive, randomly awarded in-game items. These items include a Domino’s Skin, a Slice Slayer Cape, and a Cheesy Cube Pet. The campaign is structured to encourage repeat business, online orders, and loyalty program signups.

Global Rollout and Interactive Technology

The collaboration will roll out in 19 global markets with the Domino’s system. This international expansion accompanies the launch of the Domino, an individual, Detroit-style pizza that was introduced in August. The campaign marks the first-ever partnership for Minecraft Dungeons II, a title that was officially released at the end of September. This spinoff of the original Minecraft Dungeons, which initially launched in 2020 and reached over 25 million unique players, joins the broader Minecraft franchise that has sold more than 300 million copies since its 2011 launch.

Domino’s signature Tracker will soon feature an interactive Minecraft Dungeons II theme. This digital integration complements the physical collectible boxes and digital rewards. Promo codes for the exclusive in-game items, such as the Domino’s Skin and the Cheesy Cube Pet, will be loaded directly into Domino’s Rewards members’ “My Rewards” tab. These codes are only redeemable in Minecraft Dungeons II, which is sold separately. The Domino’s Cheesy Cube Pet is noted as the first co-branded partnership pet to appear in the game.

Chief Marketing Officer Kate Trumbull added that the Domino felt right at home in the Minecraft Dungeons II universe due to its block shape, playful spirit, and perfect-for-gaming format. She stated, “Together, we’re turning every purchase into an adventure, giving fans exclusive content, collectible items, and a chance to bring their love of pizza and gaming together.” This follows a trend in the industry where restaurant chains partner with popular intellectual properties, such as McDonald’s Minecraft-themed meals in March 2025.

Industry Precedents And Comparisons

According to Placer.ai data, McDonald’s introduction of Minecraft-themed meals in March 2025 generated a double-digit traffic lift for the Golden Arches, demonstrating the potential impact of such partnerships on sales and customer engagement.

This collaboration between Domino’s and Minecraft Dungeons II is not an isolated incident, as other companies have also explored gaming partnerships, such as Slice’s initiative with Ubisoft for Far Cry 6 in September 2021, which offered special in-game rewards to customers who ordered from participating indie shops through Slice.
